Croydon u3a Summer Walk

Following her very popular London walk last summer, Sheila Batchelor (a Green Badge Guide and Croydon u3a member) is leading a walk along the Thames starting at City Thameslink station and finishing at All Hallows by the Tower of London.

The walk will begin at 11 am on Wednesday 6 August and take about 2 hours. It includes Roman history, Shakespeare links, early European Union history, 2 fascinating churches and 5 bridges with lots of information about the Thames (including its role in dealing with London’s sewage).

The walk is largely flat, includes toilet stops and chances to sit down, and ends with an opportunity to have lunch at All Hallows or for you to bring your own packed lunch.

The cost of the walk is £5 to include a free coffee or tea at a suitable coffee bar.
